Day 1 : Depart London, Arrive Vancouver

Fly from London Heathrow to Vancouver. Be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel before enjoying a Welcome Dinner.

Day 2 : Vancouver

Visit Stanley Park, a world-class 400-hectare evergreen oasis, and head to Granville Island, the heart of Vancouver’s cultural scene. Then, enjoy panoramic views of English Bay. With free time at hand this afternoon and evening, you may wish to immerse yourself in this vibrant harbourside city at your leisure. Perhaps wander the old cobblestone streets of Gastown, the birthplace of Vancouver, or visit the shopping mecca of Robson Street.

Day 3 : Vancouver, Rocky Mountaineer, Kamloops

Location: Kamloops

Board the Rocky Mountaineer and relax in the comfort of your GoldLeaf carriage as you set out into the mountains aboard one of the only passenger trains that covers this historic route. Glide past incredible scenery as your train follows the Thompson River on the way to Kamloops, where you’ll stay for the night.

Day 4 : Kamloops, Rocky Mountaineer, Banff

Your rail journey continues east towards the Canadian Rockies today. Journey through vast ranchlands, past Shuswap Lake and along the South Thompson River. See the engineering marvel of the Spiral Tunnels and traverse Kicking Horse Pass, which takes you into the province of Alberta. On arrival in Banff National Park, disembark the train and head for the Fairmont Banff Springs.

Follow the tracks of early gold rush pioneers through the Cariboo region, stopping at Seton and Duffey lakes. Later, re-enter the Coast Mountains and learn why Whistler attracts so many outdoor enthusiasts.

Enjoy breakfast and a tour at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. Then, select your Freedom of Choice activity.

Day 13 : Whistler, Georgia Strait, Victoria

Travel south along the Sea to Sky Highway. Board your BC Ferries journey to Vancouver Island. Continue to Chemainus, a town famous for its vibrant outdoor murals, before arriving in Victoria.

Day 14 : Victoria, The Butchart Gardens

After a morning exploring The Butchart Gardens, enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. On the final evening of your land journey, join a special dinner with your fellow travellers.

Day 15 : Victoria, Vancouver, Embark Ship

After breakfast this morning, return by ferry to the mainland, where you will board your ship and settle in for your seven-night Alaska Inside Passage cruise.

Day 16 : Inside Passage

Location: Vancouver

Start your day with the incredible scenery of the Inside Passage. Enjoy a full day at sea as your ship cruises along coastal British Columbia and the Alaska Panhandle. Glide past rocky headlands and over the icy waters of the Inside Passage, one of the most picturesque sea lanes in the world and one of the few places where deep-draft vessels can sail close to steep mountain walls.

Day 17 : Juneau

Location: Juneau, AK

After breakfast this morning, continue your journey to the Alaskan capital of Juneau. Set at the foot of the majestic Coast Mountains on the Gastineau Channel, this beautiful capital city attracts many travellers despite its remote location. Here, you may explore at leisure or set off on an exciting excursion (own expense).

Day 18 : Skagway

Location: Skagway, AK

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Arrive in Skagway at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage. Here, there are a variety of unique excursions on offer (own expense). The city never fails to capture the attention of visitors, with its wide range of historic buildings and intriguing stories. Alternatively, you can also choose to set out on your own discovery.

Day 19 : Glacier Bay National Park

Location: Vancouver

Today you will draw back your curtains to the sight of World Heritage-listed Glacier Bay National Park. As you cruise through rivers of ice and between sky-scraping peaks, you’ll enjoy commentary from local rangers who have come aboard your ship. They will explain the geological wonders of the passage and hopefully point out some of the diverse wildlife and marine mammals found here, such as sea lions and orcas.

Day 20 : Ketchikan

Location: Ketchikan, AK

Arrive at the city of Ketchikan, set right on the shores of the Tongass Narrows. Ketchikan acts as a gateway to a wide variety of attractions, including Misty Fjords National Monument – one of America’s largest wilderness areas. This city also lays claim to the world’s largest collection of standing totem poles.

Day 21 : Inside Passage

Location: Vancouver

Head south today, back through the Inside Passage, towards your final port of call, Vancouver.

Day 22 : Disembark Ship, Depart Vancouver

  • What if I have special dietary requirements?

    Please ensure you advise APT during your booking process if you or any of your travelling companions have special dietary needs or requests. We aim to cater for all requests which are advised at the time of making your booking.

  • What documents will I receive before I travel?

    Travel Documents are sent to you 2-3 weeks prior to your departure. Certain information may be required to help finalise your booking.

  • What are Freedom of Choice Touring options?

    For APT tour programs, you may have the opportunity to select a Freedom of Choice Touring activity. These options are at no additional cost, and confirmed whilst on tour. The Tour Directors will guide you through all of the available options, and assist with booking these for those who are interested. Your brochure or our website will feature Freedom of Choice options for some tours - where applicable. Should time permit, passengers may be given the opportunity to experience a second option by purchasing that option.

  • Where do I join the tour?

    Most of our itineraries commence with a transfer from the airport, or a meet and greet on Day 1. There may be times recommended for you to fly, which your Sales consultant will provide you. If you choose to fly in a few days prior to your tour commencing and explore independently you will be advised of a time and location to meet the tour group. If booking pre tour accommodation with APT on an exclusive APT tour itinerary, you will receive both a transfer from the airport and on Day 1 of the tour to join your fellow guests. For Europe River cruises, the vessels are available for early boarding upon your arrival. Luggage can be stored at reception, and passengers have access to the main lounge. Cabin check in is available from 3pm.

  • How do I advise of Health/Mobility Requirements?

    Your Sales consultant will ask you for any requirements pertaining to your Health & Fitness during your booking process. A questionnaire may be required to be completed, which you will be advised.

  • How long has the tour company been trading?

    APT has been operating for over 95 years!

  • What are the luggage requirements?

    Each passenger is entitled to take one piece of luggage that does not exceed 160cm - length/height/width (63 inches), weight limit 20kgs (44 pounds). Additional fees may apply for additional luggage, and must be requested by time of final payment. Some safari / adventure tours may have further luggage restrictions where passengers need to pack down to a small soft duffle 10-15kg bag due to the smaller vehicles that are used whilst on tour, this includes Kimberley Wilderness Adventure, Outback Wilderness Adventures, Africa. Your Sales consultant can provide you with specific regulations.

  • Is tipping included on my APT tour?

    Tipping is included for all APT operated tours. There are a few activities whereby tipping is not included such as Tailor Made Holidays, Africa & South America's City Stays & Extensions, and the Northern Lights Adventure in North America.
