Tour Overview
This 10-day tour offers the opportunity to discover the charm of Spains eastern region and the many wonderful coastal cities of Portugal. Start your journey in Cosmopolitan Madrid by visiting Las Ventas Bullring, Santiago Bernabue Football stadium, Arabic Fortress before venturing west to see Salamanca, city of World Heritage Universities with great architectural and artistic wealth, before crossing the Portuguese border and into the famous wine region of Porto also famous for Stock Exchange Building, Santa Clara Church and Cathedral. We then trace Portugals coast as we visit the cities of Coimbra, Fatima, Batalha, Nazare, Alcoba and Lisbon, all of them filled with unique and historic sites and attractions including the Belem Tower, Batalha and Alcobaca Monasteries and many more. Leave Portugal by crossing over back to Spain through the World Heritage City of Caceres famous for Roman, Islamic, Northern Gothic and Italian Renaissance architecture before ending the tour back in Madrid.

Day 1: Madrid (Arrival)
Welcome to Spain! On arrival at Madrid International Airport, meet our representative and be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Madrid (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning Madrid city tour; find the medieval origins of the city, like the Arabic fortress, at the Barrio de la Morería, famous for its historical buildings. Drive through the courtesan district of the Hapsburgs characterized by Phillip II and its Renaissance and Baroque style buildings, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa; the Madrid of the Bourbons and the complex town planning schemes of Charles III, the Royal Palace, Cibeles and Neptuno Fountains and the Puerta de Alcalá. Admire the XIX C. works such as Prado Museum. The contemporary Madrid with areas such as Gran Vía, Castellana, the district of Salamanca, Plaza Castilla and Parque del Oeste, as well as commercial and financial areas of Modern Madrid, the emblematic Las Ventas Bullring and the Santiago Bernabéu Football Stadium. Afternoon free to explore the wonders that the city has to offer.

Day 3: Madrid - Salamanca - Porto (B/-/-)
Enjoy Breakfast at Hotel and depart from our established hotels in Madrid. Please refer to your documentation for detailed departure information. Drive to Salamanca. Free time in this University City World Heritage of great architectural and artistic wealth. Departure to the Portuguese border until you reach Porto.

Day 4: Porto (B/-/-)
After having breakfast at the hotel proceed for panoramic sightseeing tour of Porto considered World Heritage city. We admire the Cathedral, Stock Exchange building and Santa Clara church. Afterwards, enjoy a different perspective of the city along the river Douro aboard the Blue Boats Cruise and discover the historic heritage visiting one well-known Port Wine Cellars with a wine tasting included. Rest of day at leisure.
Overnight in Porto
Day 5: Porto - Coimbra - Fatima (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the Hotel. Departure to Coimbra. City seat of one of the oldest universities in Europe and the birthplace of Fado. Free time. Then to Fatima. Center of the Christian Faith and World Pilgrimage Sanctuary with its impressive Basilica and the Cova da Iria place where the Virgin Mary appeared. The Chapel of the Apparitions, heart of the sanctuary, with the tombs of the three shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. At night possibility to attend the procession of the candles.
Overnight in Fatima
Day 6: Fatima - Batalha - Nazare - Alcobaca - Lisbon (B/-/-)
Enjoy Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the Batalha Monastery, a masterpiece of Gothic and Manueline style considered a World Heritage place by UNESCO. Continue to the picturesque fishing town of Nazaré. Free time and continue to Alcobaça (World Heritage) with its Gothic church and Cistercian monastery, whose origins date back to the XII C. Then proceed towards Lisbon.

Day 7: Lisbon (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of the ancient Olissipo, drive through its main squares and avenues, Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Coach Museum, Monument to the Discoverers, Marquis of Pombal Square, Liberty Avenue. Afternoon at leisure for you to catch the nostalgic corners of Alfama Quarter, the old city gathered next to its Castle, with old buildings nested in narrow twisting “Ruas” full of color housing the genuine “tabernas” where Fado sounds as a missing past.
Overnight in Lisbon
Day 8: Lisbon - Caceres - Madrid (B/-/-)
After breakfast, Departure to Caceres considered as World Heritage place because of the citys blend of Roman, Islamic Northern Gothic and Italian Renaissance architecture. Walk through its Plaza Mayor and the Old Town with its famous Medieval Quarter, Later continue your journey towards Madrid.

Day 9: Madrid - Usa / Canada (B/-/-)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then check-out of the hotel. You will then be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.

Can I join the tour once it has departed?
Yes, but only in case it was previously agreed by both sides and arranged by us.

What documents will I receive before I travel?
Our e-document package includes all local contact details, daily itinerary, airline e-ticket information, service vouchers, and travel tips which should be everything you require to go on your trip.

If I need one, who is responsible to obtain my visa?
You are responsible for obtaining the proper travel documents for the destinations on your itinerary, including having a passport that is valid for at least 6 months before the date of departure and a visa if required. No, not as standard. Solo travellers can book and occupy their own room for a supplement.

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
