Itinerary

Expand All

Day 1

Fly into Seattle International Airport and to your hotel for a two night stay.

Day 2 Seattle At Leisure Or Vancouver Island

Location: Seattle at Leisure or Vancouver Island

Welcome to Seattle, a dynamic urban city surrounded by unmatched natural beauty. The Pacific Northwest is all about the outdoors, great food, arts and culture. Take a walk around the waterfront and the
renowned Pike Place Market, head to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery, which is one of the first Starbucks ever that opened in Seattle, or go visit the iconic ‘Space Needle’ observation tower.

Today you have the option to take a daytrip on a ferry to Vancouver Island, a Canadian gem. Victoria is a true one-of-a-kind city on the Pacific coast. Surrounded by water and full of adventure,
Victoria finds itself nestled between the tranquil waters of the Salish Sea and the mighty rainforests of Vancouver Island. Discover world-class attractions like Butchart Gardens, a one-of-a-kind whale
watching experience and fresh farm-to-table dining.

Day 3 Portland Via Mount Rainier National Park

Location: Portland via Mount Rainier National Park

Depart this morning for Portland, Oregon’s largest city and one of the world’s best walking cities. On route, visit Mount Rainier National Park and Mount St. Helens, both active volcanoes and part of the Northwest “ring of fire”. Ascending to
14,410 feet above sea level, Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous U.S. and just south of Mount Rainier is Mount St. Helens, the youngest and most active volcano in the contiguous
U.S. Portland’s downtown is ideal for strolling, flanked by leafy parks along the Willamette River and evergreen-shrouded forests laced with hiking trails in the foothills to the west.

Day 4 Portland

Location: Portland

Experience what Portlanders love about this artsy city – may we suggest taking a culinary walking tour through eclectic neighborhoods? You can also sample beer at one of the city’s breweries, take a woodworking class, learn the tradition of glass blowing, visit a Farmers Market and a locally owned bookstore, or pair your board game night with a crafty cocktail at a Portland Board Game Bar.

Day 5 Cannon Beach And Coos Bay

Location: Cannon Beach and Coos Bay

Just 90 minutes from Portland is Cannon Beach. Here, you can enjoy stunning coastline views and remarkable natural areas that blend with a charming city by the sea, known as one of the Top Art towns. Take a selfie in front of the famous Haystack Rock which is Oregon’s most recognizable landmark. Arrive in Coos Bay and reconnect with nature on Oregon’s South Coast. Engage in enlightening explorations and gain an
intimate understanding of this scenic and diverse region. There are plenty of hidden gems and off the beaten path wonders to discover.

Day 6 Eureka Via Redwood National Park

Location: Eureka via Redwood National Park

Leave Coos Bay in the morning and start your journey via Gold Beach, Brookings and through iconic Redwood National Park (the world’s tallest trees). When you arrive in Eureka which is
known to be ‘real, authentic and different’, you will enjoy its historic waterfront, visit the diverse local shops and restaurants, take in abundant local art and architecture and relax on ruggedly beautiful beaches.

Day 7 Santa Rosa

Location: Santa Rosa

Leave Eureka in the morning and drive
along the coast on US 101 to California’s most iconic wine region that wins hearts with its beautiful scenery, globally recognized restaurants, unique shopping boutiques, arts and culture. In the urban
heart of wine country, Santa Rosa is a city with a cool vibe and vibrant culture ready and is waiting to be explored.

Day 8 Napa Valley

Location: Napa Valley

In the morning, you will board the Napa Valley Wine Train for an elegant tranquil trail journey. While a gourmet lunch is being served, you will enjoy
beautiful sceneries of Napa Valley.

Later, join the Winery team for a seated tasting hosted on the beautiful outdoor patio at their Rutherford
property. Enjoy a special selection of wines from estate vineyards and once you have completed your tasting, a special treat is waiting for you back onboard the Train: coffee or tea savored at your leisure in luxury, as you head through the Napa Valley back to Napa via train.

In the afternoon we will drive to San Francisco, a city that many consider to be the most beautiful in America.

Day 9 San Francisco

Location: San Francisco

This morning, join an included half-day city tour of Union Square, the Civic Center, Fisherman’s Wharf, and enjoy spectacular views from the top of Twin Peak.

This afternoon is at leisure in “the City by the Bay”. You can take a cable car ride to Fisherman’s Wharf and enjoy a “Taste of San Francisco”: local seafood, famous sourdough breads or decadent Ghiradelli’s Chocolate. Or, stroll by Sea Lions’ Marina and observe them frolicing and playing. Be sure to gaze across the bay to Alcatraz Island where “America’s Most Wanted” such as Al Capone and “Machine Gun” Kelly were incarcerated. You could even visit Union Square for a shopping stop at Macy’s Department Store.

This evening, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an optional Bay Cruise or Dinner Cruise, a jaw-dropping adventure for your senses.

Day 10 Carmel And Monterey

Location: Carmel and Monterey

Take the stunning 17-mile drive to Monterey and Carmel and admire the natural scenery and gorgeous homes. Travel along the Pacific Coast to the Monterey Bay Peninsula. From the dramatic panoramas of the Big Sur Coastline to the fairytale cottages of Carmel-by-the Sea, Monterey is a truly
inspired California getaway. During the day, you will have the opportunity to visit the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium on our optional excursion.

Day 11 Solvang And The Central Coast

Location: Solvang and the Central Coast

Today head South towards Solvang, a
charming village located in Santa Barbara County. Stroll down Copenhagen Drive tasting Aebleskivers and other Danish pastries or sample wine in the shade of windmills. Soak in the Danish culture and
enjoy many of the European bakeries and shops. Solvang is where you can drink, dine and shop like a Dane without ever leaving the California sunshine. Explore wineries, boutiques or ride the Solvang Trolley for a full tour of the town.

Day 12 Pacific Coast Highway To Los Angeles

Location: Pacific Coast Highway to Los Angeles

Journey south along famed routes 101
and the Pacific Coast Highway, referred to as PCH by locals. You will visit Santa Barbara with its historic Spanish architecture followed by the coastal hamlet of Malibu, home to both celebrities
and surfers.

Upon arrival into Los Angeles, you will
enjoy a city tour including a brief stop in Santa Monica, the finishing line of Historic Route 66, glamorous Hollywood and the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, where photo opportunities are to take pictures of the Hollywood Sign and travel alongside posh Beverly Hills.

Day 13 Los Angeles At Leisure Or San Diego

Location: Los Angeles at Leisure or San Diego

Today is at leisure in Los Angeles or on a full-day optional excursion to San Diego. Travel south through San Juan, Capistrano and San Clemente to San Diego, the second largest city in California. San Diego enjoys year-round mild weather and a location on the San Diego Bay. Enjoy a city tour including the historic Old Town, the Gaslamp district, and the bayfront picturesque Seaport Village. For a different view of the city, you can join an optional cruise on the bay before returning to Los Angeles in the late afternoon.

I went on the 4 countries trip and swiss glacier express and overall it was a great trip. The coach I was on was silver service, it was tidy had nice seats and other accessories such as charging points and headsets which was very handy. The drivers Alex and Dave were fantastic, very kind, funny and respectful throughout the whole trip and a pleasure to talk to. The excursions were very pleasant and all ran very smoothly. The hotels were decent and offered a good service. I overall very much recommend leger holidays.

Excellent customer service

Booked our ‘Christmas in Austria & Scenic Trains of the Tyrol’ through George on the customer Helpline. Nothing was too much trouble, everything clearly & patiently explained. He even had permission to log in on his day off to finalise the sale! A charming and helpful young person and a credit to the company.

Been on two tours now the “D Day beaches” and “ All Quiet on the Western Front” tour of the Somme and Ypres. Both four days in total, two travelling and two on the site of the various battles. This is outstanding value for money, picked up from Carlisle , Cumbria and literally looked after all the way through the tours. The coaches are great and the accommodation spot on . The guides are very knowledgeable ( Mark Hope brilliant guy)and the bus drivers professional . Absolutely fantastic .

Praise to Graham and Chris for their excellent driving and coffee service. Our visit to Verona, our guide was very informative but did walk at a pace sometimes had to hurry to keep up. Four Countries New Year & the Swiss Glacier Express

07-Jan-2024

Firstly we must thank Alex and Dave our tour guide / drivers who entertained us through out . The tour was fantastic so was the hotel’s food and entertainment. The tour was through the new year holidays as expected lots of shops closed and hotels were understaffed which was lost on some travelers. We travelled back from stop 24 on a luxuria coach I would recommend paying the extra for the comfort alone

25-Mar-2024

just returned from a solos break to valkenburg and rhine valley i enjoyed the break overall although both journeys were considerably longer than expected due to several picks ups. I could have done without the 3 countries meeting point excursion to be honest and the lunch on rhine cruise was very basic. The drivers/couriers were efficient and good humoured and provided free lunch vouchers on the ferry which were much appreciated. I probably would book another break with leger but to somewhere a lot closer to home.

I'd like to go lowerthan...

26-Dec-2023

I'd like to go lowerthan one star .my trip over to Italy nearly 36 hours in total.the driver and his wife gave thier mother a seat that was paid for and reserved at a price by another lady who was finally allowed to sit at the front with the drivers mother .( that was good of them considering the lady had paid for 2 holidays and one couldn't make it . I had the cheek to ask for coffee only the women driver to have conversation loud enough for my earshot to her husband then put over the tannoy that coffee will be when they are ready. ( i had bought 24 tickets for drinks on steves advice )but i quietly corrected them saying that they really shouldn't do that so I could hear. Then a barrage of abuse came from her for then her husband to face me off at my seat and a threats to get my case off and find my own way home his face red with rage pointing in my face with comments saying they don't have to take that from me.as they are fed up with people and they have to work 21 hours etc etc .they people were shouting STOP STOP STOP .he continued his rant and saying I would be dropped at the next service station. ( FRANCE) it was raining and I had no idea where I was going or had been.He the gave me a can of diet coke and said i could have it free but no oppology! 15 hours later in italy I wanted to leave and get a plane home .legers were no help but another coach arrived same sort of holiday shearings with nice drivers .No Rome visit and I could be with them for the remainder of time. I did go out on a couple of trips and the bus and drivers were amazing .I was told by legers eventually I can do the return journey with then but my holiday was ruined I cried and slept and am emotionally traumatised . On the plus side the coach i arrived on the doors kept opening in the wind the coach had to pull over and close the door so we could only use side door which was a fire hazzard ! Still no apology last day is today I'm spending in my room .I just want to return to England because I will be getting a solicitor for the abuse i suffered and the money I paid and for the wasted week over Christmas not to mention the anxiety I have suffered .the hotel and food was abysmal. The worse week ever and £1500 spent my nerves are in shreads .I can't wait to see the reviews and already I am flooded with statements from other passengers about how bad it is and my how I should fight for my injustice of it all .this time it must go to court so people are heard and intimidation like this is not allowed

Many thanks to Molly.

03-Jan-2023

I have recently booked a trip to Le Mans and had the good fortune to speak to Molly. She was very helpful and a pleasure to talk to. She was able to answer all but one of my queries with clarity and promised to ring me with the answer to the un-answered question as it required further investigation. This she duly did. An unusually pleasant experience when making a booking over the phone, if only it could be this easy every the time.
