We request the pleasure of your company at the spectacular Victorian-themed Christmas fayre in historic Worcester! With glittering lights and traditional stalls lining the streets, our short break to Worcester Christmas Market is a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit. Featuring costumed stallholders selling festive treats, sweets and gift ideas for the whole family. We also enjoy time in Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of literary legend William Shakespeare.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Worcester
Enjoy the many attractions of the historic city of Worcester, set on the banks of the River Severn and surrounded by some of the most beautiful rural landscapes in England.
The city has a small town feel and many architectural gems thanks to its jumble of medieval, Tudor and Georgian buildings. Admire the half-timbered buildings on Friar Street including the National Trusts’ Greyfriars’ House and Garden and the 500-year old -Tudor House or the beautiful 18th-century Guildhall on the High Street.
Magnificent Worcester Cathedral rises majestically above the river, overlooking the city. Built between 1084 and 1504, the cathedral represents every style of English architecture and boasts royal tombs, medieval cloisters, a Norman crypt and magnificent Victorian stained glass.
As well as being the birthplace of the composer Edward Elgar, the city is also famous for its exquisite Royal Worcester porcelain, with prestigious collections of tableware, homeware and gifts. The piquant Worcestershire sauce was first sold in the city in 1838 by John Wheeley Lea and William Henry Perrins (Lea & Perrins).
Worcester also has an unrivalled range of shops, from high street names to independent boutiques, plus a lovely selection of cafés and restaurants.
For history and art buffs, you can explore The Commandery to learn about the city’s important role in the English Civil War or see a contemporary exhibition at the City Art Gallery.

Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
