This morning we travel to legendary Loch Ness and enjoy a delightful 50 minute cruise past the dramatic ruins of Urquhart Castle. Be sure to have your camera ready as we pass the loch in case you spot Nessie!
We round the day off with a visit to Inverness – known as the 'capital of the Highlands' – a vibrant, bustling, and modern city at the top of the Great Glen.
Day 3 Day At Leisure Or Strathpeffer
Location: Day at Leisure or Strathpeffer
Enjoy a day at leisure today in Grantown-on-Spey or join our optional excursion to Strathpeffer. This charming town stands in a beautiful setting at the head of the Peffery Valley, 200 ft. above sea level and guarded to the North by Ben Wyvis. During its heyday, Strathpeffer was a renowned European health spa resort. At the recently restored Pump Room, visitors once drank water from wells to treat all manner of ailments.
You will have free time to explore this pretty Victorian Highland town. Why not visit the Highland Museum of Childhood, located at the restored Victorian train station? Offering a close look at growing up in the Highlands, the museum is a great way to explore the local history and traditions.
Day 4 Strathspey Railway
Location: Strathspey Railway
Today we explore the beauty of the Cairngorms National Park. We will drive to Aviemore and board the Strathspey Railway for a nostalgic train journey through stunning Scottish scenery. Sit back and relax as we view the mountains and travel through the Boat of Garten and Broomhill stations.
Day 5
After breakfast today, we journey home.
