Day 2 : Explore Christian Rome

Begin your splendid sightseeing programme with a full day excursion to Rome and a guided tour of the awe-inspiring St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, one of the biggest churches in the world. The basilica was built over the tomb of St. Peter the apostle and is regarded as one of the holiest Catholic sites.After this you will visit the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Displaying some of the most impressive religious art and architecture in the world, these buildings will not disappoint.
Day 3 : Free Time In Rome

Day 3 can be spent at your leisure with many other attractions to see. You could visit the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City (closed on Sunday) which is the official residence of the Pope. Here you can view Michelangelo's most famous work, which changed the course of Western art. We would advise that you get there early as long queues will form from early morning. For art lovers we suggest you visit the Museo e Galleria Borghese, which houses paintings by Caravaggio, Botticelli and Raphael. We suggest you call ahead and pre-book this queen of all private art collections. If you would like to spend some more time outdoors why not visit the Piazza Novona, which is Rome's most celebrated square. The piazza holds three fountains and is usually full of street artists and hawkers.
Day 4 : Discover Ancient Rome

Enjoy a guided tour, viewing the ancient sites of Rome. First stop is the Colosseum, which is one of the greatest examples of Roman architecture and the largest amphitheatre in the world. Beside this you will find the Roman Forum, which was originally a marketplace and is surrounded by the ruins of several important ancient government buildings. Both the Colosseum and the Roman Forum will be viewed from the outside only.You will take a trip to Saint Peter in Chains Basilica, which is best known for housing Michelangelo's statue of Moses, part of the tomb of Pope Julius II. It took Michelangelo over 40 years to complete from 1505 to 1545. The basilica was founded in the 5th century to house the chains that bound St. Peter in Jerusalem and they remain in the basilica to this day. From here you will continue towards Venice Square (Piazza Venezia), which is where many of the main thoroughfares of the city intersect. It stands at the foot of Capitol Hill and next to Trajans Forum, which was the last of the Imperial fora to be constructed in Rome. Here you can find the monument to Vittorio Emanuele II who was the first king of Italy. Finally you will make your way around to the iconic Trevi Fountain. This wonder of architecture is a staggering 26 metres high and 49 metres wide and is one of the most famous fountains in the world. Be sure to throw a coin into the water which legend has it will ensure your return to Rome one day. An estimated three thousand Euros are thrown in each day and the money has been used to subsidize a supermarket for the disadvantaged citizens of the capital.
Day 5 : Explore Rome At Your Own Pace

Today you will be free to explore the city at your own pace. Why not visit the Spanish Steps and the Piazza di Spagna, which is one of the most popular shopping districts in the city and one of Rome's top tourist attractions.
