This exciting adventure takes you through the northern hill stations of the Himalayas to the fantastically iconic Golden Triangle of Agra, Jaipur, and Delhi, immersing you in North India's culture.
A visit to vibrant Amritsar, home to the Golden Temple, one of the holiest sites in India, boasting a top made of pure gold, journeying on the Toy Train from Shimla and witnessing the Agra sound and light show are just some of the incredible experiences to be found on this varied and magical tour.

Day 1 - 2 : Days 1-2: Fly To Delhi

Fly overnight to Delhi, India's vibrant capital city. Depending on your time of arrival
the rest of the day is yours to start soaking up the local culture.
Day 3: Discover Delhi
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Take a full day to explore India's vibrant capital. Starting in Old Delhi, embark on a rickshaw ride through the atmospheric streets, visiting Jama Masjid. Venture into a local market where you will learn about local herbs and spices. Cross into New Delhi to view the colonial grandeur of the Rajpath, including the Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate, finishing the day at Humayun's Tomb.
Day 4: Train To Amritsar

Transfer to Delhi station and hop on a train travelling north to Amritsar. Head to the
close by India-Pakistan border to watch the elaborate border closing ceremony with its fantastically over-the-top showmanship.
Day 5: Explore Amritsar

Enjoy a heritage walk of the city, taking in local markets and temples including Jallianwalla Bagh. Visit the Golden Temple, Harmandir Sahib – the spiritual heart of the Sikh faith. Built in the 16th-century, its dome is richly gilded in shimmering gold. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity and walk around the sacred waters of Amrit Sarovar. Return to the temple this evening to experience Palki Sahib, an atmospheric ceremony accompanied by drums and hymns.
Day 6: Travel To Dharamsala
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Ascend into the Himalayas to Dharamsala, a former British hill station that has become the home of the Tibetan Government in exile. This afternoon, visit the Tibetan Library and the Tibetan Medical Institute.
Day 7: Explore Dharamsala

Start the day at Bhagsunag, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva before exploring
Mcleod Ganj, a town with a distinctly Tibetan feel. Explore the town, visiting Buddhist
temples and local markets, and popping into the Dalai Lama Temple and the Tibetan
Museum.
Day 8: Yoga Experience

Start the day with a yoga and meditation session. Continue your explorations at the
Kangra State Museum and St John's Church. Enjoy a demonstration on how to cook local dishes before spending some time at the Nobulingka Institute. A major centre for Buddhist learning, it also works to preserve Tibet's cultural heritage.
Day 9: Travel To Shimla
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Drive to Shimla. On arrival, the rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 10: Toy Train
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
All aboard the famous Toy Train, a World Heritage railway built in 1903. This is one of India’s most scenic train journeys, where you can admire spectacular views as your wind your way down from the mountains. Return to Shimla by car. This afternoon visit Jakhoo Temple, which sits at the highest point of the city, offering amazing views. Continue on a walking tour of Mall Road, Shimla’s main street constructed during British colonial rule.
Day 11: Shimla To Delhi
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Visit the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies and the Himachal State Museum. Transfer to Kalka to board the train to Delhi.
Day 12: Agra Fort
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Travel to Agra by road. On arrival, admire the colossal Agra Fort, built by the Mughals in the mid-1500s.
Day 13: Taj Mahal
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today you will visit India's most iconic sight - The Taj Mahal. Depart Agra for Jaipur, stopping en route to admire the symmetrical beauty of the Chand Baori stepwell. Arrive in the 'Pink City' and visit the City Palace and the fascinating Jantar Mantar observatory.
Day 14: Explore Jaipur
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Start with a photo stop this morning at Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) before visiting the spectacular Amber Fort. Stop at a craft centre to watch artisans at work block printing and carpet weaving. Before dinner you will have a cooking demonstration.
Day 15: Delhi
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Return to Delhi by road. This evening, sit down to a final group dinner and Kathak Dance performance.
Day 16: Depart Delhi
Meals Included: Breakfast
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.

If, after our confirmation invoice has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, we will endeavour to make these changes, but it may not always be possible. What documents will I receive before I travel?
Your Final Travel Documents are usually sent to you 2-3 weeks prior to your departure. Your travel pack will include your tour itinerary, hotel details, flight e-tickets and a travel guide. If you have booked with a travel agent, your tickets will be dispatched to your travel agent unless we have been otherwise informed.

Will I be travelling with passengers from other countries?
Our passengers generally enjoy the mixture of British, Australian and American clients on tour. Occasionally we are joined by English-speaking passengers from other countries.

What is 'Happy to Share'?
Customers booking to travel solo can choose our ‘Happy to Share’ option, which may enable them to share a twin room with other solo customers of the same gender who also request Happy to Share, thus avoiding the need to pay single room supplements. Note that ‘Happy to Share’ requests can be received when you make your booking with us but will not be confirmed until your final payment due date. If a share partner is found, the Single Supplement will be removed from your booking. If a share partner is not found, the Single Supplement will remain and is payable with your final balance in line with our normal booking conditions. Either way, our Operations Team will contact you around 75 days before departure to let you know whether a share partner has been found or not. We regret that Happy to Share requests cannot be accepted within 75 days of departure. Wendy Wu Tours reserves the right to change or withdraw this arrangement at any time.

We allow children 12 years and over on our group tours. We recommend that families with children of any age take advantage of our private or tailormade tours. This will give you more flexibility while on tour.
